Trilokpuri Children’s Learning Centre Highlights

A new afternoon session

Since girls attend the morning shifts in government schools, they were not able to come to our morning classes.  Hence an afternoon session was started in April mostly for girls. 20 girls aged 5-14 are currently

enrolled.

We now have 2 hour morning and afternoon  sessions Monday-Friday. Our focus is on strengthening core subjects after doing an assessment of each student’s standard in Maths, Hindi and English using creative and engaging techniques.

Digital learning has also been introduced and a new TV was installed in May to show educational videos and films.

English as a skill

The demand from parents and youth to learn and speak in English lead conduct an intensive 60 hour ‘English as skill’ workshop this summer by professional trainer Nimisha Handa. This was a very interactive communications and presentation class using mind mapping and videos.

We have a also started a regular class for learning English (Monday-Friday for class 10 and above). Besides learning grammar students have to give a presentation in class everyday.

Book donation drives were conducted in different colleges of Delhi. Two boxes of boxes came all the way from Kochi in southern India.
