Zarriya is more than just a project; it’s a beacon of hope for young individuals facing challenges in pursuing higher education and securing meaningful employment opportunities. Initiated in 2022 by FFEC, Zarriya aims to break the barriers that hinder the dreams and aspirations of countless young people.

In our research, we uncovered a significant percentage of youth aged between 18-25 struggling to access higher education or technical courses after completing their schooling. Young people from low socio-economic backgrounds, where family income cannot support the expenses associated with further studies. Unlike government schools where education is subsidized or free, these individuals find themselves at a crossroads, often resorting to informal jobs or early marriages due to limited options.

FFEC stepped in to address this pressing issue by partnering with colleges to provide comprehensive support to young individuals, particularly girls, enabling them to pursue higher education and acquire essential technical skills. Through Zarriya, we cover tuition fees, accommodation, transportation expenses for exams and practicals, and create a conducive environment for online learning.

Zarriya doesn’t just stop at education; it paves the way for real-world exposure and hands-on experience. Young People get the unique opportunity to intern at leading companies like Food Tech, gaining invaluable insights into the dynamic field of food technology. This blend of academic learning and practical experience ensures that they are well-prepared for the challenges of the job market.

FFEC’s commitment to youth empowerment extends beyond academic support. Through Zarriya, we offer opportunities for young individuals to actively engage in addressing social issues at the community level. From enhancing communication and social media design skills to contributing to project implementation and interacting with stakeholders, young people become agents of positive change in their communities.
