ROZGAAR: A Life of Dignity
Our project Rozgaar aims to provide daily wagers with small loans to help them get up on their feet. Many underprivileged, daily wagers in the informal sector don’t have easy access to loans to restart their work as they were severely impacted by the lockdowns.
Among the many people who we aim to support through this fundraiser is Nazakat. Nazakat Ali is a kabaadiwala who made a living to support his children and wife by collecting recyclable waste from people’s homes on his rickshaw. During the Covid lockdowns he wasn’t able to earn anything and had to sell his rickshaw to buy food for his family.
FFEC gave him Rs 10,000 so he could buy a rickshaw. After months of extreme poverty, Nazakat is back on his feet, making the rounds, shouting “kabaadiwala.” Nazakat again requires a small amount to continue his work. We have identified four beneficiaries who willl receive help through the donations. You can read more about their stories on our social media pages.
Your donations can bring back smiles, new hope, and dignity for many other underprivileged, daily wagers in the informal sector who don’t have easy access to loans to restart their work as they were severely impacted by the lockdowns.
No amount is small. Please support us in this effort to help low income families live a life of dignity.
